About Staged Readings

Moveable Piece's Staged Readings are performances stripped down to the bare essentials.

  • New or under-produced plays
  • Generally by LA-area writers
  • Actors are on-book
  • No costumes, sets, or props
  • Little-to-no choreography/staging
  • No reviews by the press
  • Full-length scripts only (1-2 hours)
  • Playwrights usually in attendance

Latecomers may be accommodated depending on the acoustics of the performance space.

CODY HENDERSON's plays include THE BEWILDERED HERD, THE LAWN (Ojai Playwrights Conference), WONDERLUST, COLD/TENDER (Theatre @ Boston Court), CARROTS FOR HARE (Powerhouse/Ghost Road), and PACIFIC DAYLIGHT (Theatre of NOTE).  His writing has been developed with Center Theatre Group, New York Stage and Film, ASK Theatre Projects, Ensemble Studio Theatre-LA, Rogue Machine, Cypress College, and California State Summer School for the Arts.   He is a graduate of CalArts and a member of the Dog Ear Playwrights: www.dogear.org.
