Red Helen dominates her home and three daughters with an unwavering clenched fist-- until all hell breaks loose at the family steak restaurant, and the status quo starts to slip. A dark and twisted comedy about bloody money, blood-red meat, and blood relations.

JENNIFER BARCLAY is an actor-turned-playwright/ screenwriter and a Chicagoan-turned-Californian. Her plays have been produced and developed at Steppenwolf, International Theatre of Vienna, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Northlight, Piven, Remy Bumppo, Teatro Vista, Stage Left, American Theatre Company, Collaboraction, NY Theatre Experiment, Beyond the Wall Productions, Moxie, The Kennedy Center and UC San Diego, among others. As an actress, Jennifer has performed in Austria, Scotland, Chicago, California and New York, and has toured her one-woman show, Clearing Hedges, far and wide. She has been granted playwriting residencies at The Hawthornden International Writers Retreat (Scotland) and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Her screenplay Prank won a Samuel Goldwyn Writing Award, and her screenplay The Fontaines was a semi-finalist in Final Draft’s Big Break Competition. Playwriting awards include Kennedy Center National Science Playwriting Award second place, Princess Grace finalist, Heideman Award finalist, Pinter Review Gold Medal, San Francisco Fringe Best Dramatic Solo, and Northwestern’s Mary Margaret Linn Theatre Award. Jennifer is a graduate of Northwestern University’s theatre program and UC San Diego’s MFA playwriting program. She is currently developing a community-based play with the Old Globe, and is the Playwright in Residence at South Coast Repertory. Upcoming productions include: The Exile of Petie DeLarge at Son of Semele and Redcat’s NOW Festival in LA, Tight Curls Today at Collaboraction’s Sketchbook Festival in Chicago, Snapshot, Constriction and Swallow It at Looking Glass in NY, and the world premiere of Freedom, NY at Teatro Vista in Chicago. www.BarclayStudios.com.
