Site-Specific Performances
Through our site-specific performances, we aim to create work that connects with, is accessible to, and is even about, individual locations and neighborhoods in Los Angeles.
Once we secure a performance location, we organize a four to six week residency for our collaborators at the space. Our writers begin writing in the space, often during a workshop-like kickoff session, and create short plays inspired by the location, its culture, patrons, character and history.
Our dramaturg(s) work with the writers to revise and develop their plays. Directors come on to shepherd the plays through, we then cast the plays, begin rehearsals, and finally perform the short plays on location.
